Our Week on Star Island
Travel to Star on the Thomas Laighton Ferry
Saturday: Check in at the dock at Portsmouth NH between 10:00 and 11:00. If you’d like to park your car at the dock, you will be guided to a spot by one of the friendly “Pels.” Then drop your bag and find lunch in town. Your bag will be transported separately and then delivered right to your room! The Thomas Laighton Ferry will shuttle you to Star Island, where attendees will be welcomed by the Pels and cookies on the porch. Fire and water orientation happens next and then you are free to go unpack.
Sunday: Starts with our wonderful Wake-Up Singers followed by stretching, exercise and coffee on the porch. Then it’s a hot and hearty breakfast (check out the oatmeal bar) and then it’s on to the workshop sampler. We have six workshops and you can check out three of them on Sunday morning to see if one strikes your fancy. Sunday ends with an evening of storytelling, followed by (optional) candlelit chapel.
MONDAY – FRIDAY
Morning Activities, Workshops & Afternoon Activities
Monday through Friday: The workshops take place for two hours every morning – and then you are on your own to choose from the many afternoon and evening activities, or just relax. Meals are made from scratch and breakfast, lunch and dinner are served family style every day and (optional) chapel services are held in the morning and evening.
Saturday: Time to say your farewells and board the ferry to return to Portsmouth. Again, your bags will be handled by the Pels – taken from your room and delivered on the dock at Portsmouth. And then start planning for next year…you will come back!
